In a shock move, the award-winning Sportsman in Scots Hill closed on 28 February. The pub has been a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide over many years, including the 2025 edition, and was much loved by its devoted regulars. The Save Our Sportsman campaign was quickly launched by concerned locals and Croxley Green Parish Council have submitted an application for the pub to become an Asset of Community Value, which has now been approved. It seems that the owners have put both the lease and the freehold on the market
